No more cookie-cutter method books! Our professional teachers use a modern, creative and structured approach to learning music developed by Vesper's founder, Becca Schultz. With a profound passion for all things music, Becca Schultz founded Vesper School of Music in 2015 and is currently its Director. She has based her career in music education and performance since moving to Portland in 2007.

More than anything else, David enjoys teaching. In 2017 David returned to Portland after spending two years teaching English and music at a private kindergarten in South Korea. He feels strongly that music enhances quality of life,

Meet Your Teachers

We offer the highest quality private lessons in a variety of instruments. Our students study a variety of musical genres as well as improvisation, composition, and Western music theory.

Our teaching philosophy features a positive, engaging approach that fosters each student's unique talents and creativity. Students learn to sightread music, improvise, compose, and train their ear while using healthy technique based on modern research. This leads to holistic and well-crafted music lessons for students of all ages.

Our virtual lessons are conducted on Zoom at a time that works for your schedule. We use Seesaw, a seamless parent-teacher-student communication interface for lessons, so students know exactly what to practice each week. We also continue to offer tutorials and virtual student recitals on our Youtube channel.

Music allows us to express ourselves in a really positive and creative way, and allows us to communicate with others through the powerfully incredible medium that is music.
